Langley, British Columbia—On April 21, Neil Snider, PhD, president of Trinity Western University, was honoured by Briercrest Bible College as Alumnus of the Year. He attended Briercrest during his elementary and secondary schooling, and graduated from the post-secondary Bible institute in 1959. Dr. Snider, who went on to pursue graduate studies, earning a PhD from the University of Oregon, and serving as president of TWU for the past 27 years, credits his time at Briercrest as key in his personal faith development.
“During my time at Briercrest, I gained a deeper understanding of what it means to have a biblical mindset, a sense of God working through His people, and a concern for the missionary mandate,” reflects Snider. “These were the kind of foundational things I learned there, for which I’m grateful.”
Dr. Snider, who was invited to address Briercrest’s board of governors and campus community, spoke on the joys and challenges of building an institution that lasts.
