Trinity Western University’s Concert Band will bring the sounds of Italy to the Lower Mainland in a concert titled "From Italy with Love," on Saturday, April 6 at 8 p.m. Taking place at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium at 32315 South Fraser Way in Abbotsford, the public is invited to enjoy the band’s performance of magnificent Italian masterpieces by Verdi, Rossini, Vivaldi, Corelli and Denza.
TWU professor Paul Hoelzley, PhD, former member of the award-winning Paris Arts Brass Quintet and the famed Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, will conduct the performance.
Audiences will enjoy a powerful trumpet solo of "The Carnival of Venice," by TWU trumpet instructor Christopher Robertson, among other classics such as "Grand March from Aida," and "Overture to La Gazza Ladra." Warm up your singing voice and help the band close the program with the ever favourite "Funiculi, Funicula."
