Event: On March 10, the Chapel, Court and Countryside Series at TWU will feature the sounds of the Moir Fortepiano Duo along with guests Nick Swindale, Nancy DiNovo and Allan Thorpe. The ensemble, Trinity Classical Players, will perform Symphony in C major (Linz) and the Symphony in D major (Haffner), which are among some of the most lyrical and popular symphonies by Mozart. The chamber versions of these works have been lying dormant in a European museum for 200 years. The program at TWU will showcase the first performance of these rediscovered Mozart symphonies in Canada.
Keeping with the musical sounds of the era, Ronald and Ruth Moir will perform the compositions on a classical 18th century piano identical to that owned by Mozart, Swindale on classical flute, DiNovo on classical violin and Thorpe on classical bassoon.
To complete the program the Moir Fortepiano Duo will perform duet selections from their recently released CD.
