They are four for four! Trinity Western University is proud to announce that for the last four consecutive years it has received an A+ in Quality of Education in The Globe and Mail’s Canadian University Report. It is the only university in Canada to receive this ranking four years running.
TWU Provost Dennis Jameson Ph. D. says, “TWU students continue to be blessed by the excellence of our faculty and academic staff. This excellence derives not just from the faculty's renowned expertise and professional qualifications but from being role models of character, compassion, and commitment to the whole-person development of their students. These rankings reflect our students' appreciation of and respect for these outstanding scholars, mentors and guides.”
The rankings don’t lie. As well as receiving an A+ in Quality of Education TWU students also gave the Langley-based University the following top marks:
A+ Quality of teaching
A+ Overall academic reputation
A+ Student / faculty interaction
A+ Campus atmosphere
Many students are choosing to be more than just a number, and are taking notice that the private Christian liberal arts university offers some unique opportunities that they wouldn’t normally be able to experience at a larger school. Keeping class sizes smaller on purpose, TWU enables students to have a greater opportunity to interact with faculty directly and to be involved with many leadership and service initiatives through its Student Life programs.
TWU President Jonathan Raymond Ph.D. says, “Trinity Western University's strong results in several categories of The Globe and Mail’s Canadian University Report and our very high comparative ranking among 53 Canadian universities is no surprise. We are all about high quality, continuous improvement, intentional design, and strategic positioning for student success. TWU's emphasis on whole-person development, student engagement, and personal attention to every student is having an impact on our graduates as they succeed in life and impact the world. We are once again pleased and blessed by The Globe and Mail results and celebrate our terrific students.”
This is the eighth year that The Globe and Mail’s Canadian University Report has been conveying the overall satisfaction university students are experiencing with post secondary institutions. Over 38,000 students completed the over 100 question survey representing 53 universities across Canada. According to The Globe and Mail the need for rankings came about due to a “belief that undergraduates needed to be given an opportunity to voice their student experiences.”
TWU takes the rankings it receives from its students seriously and after last year’s rankings set out to make necessary changes to some areas that they received lower marks in with the goal to improve student experiences. This year TWU saw higher rankings in Quality of Student Services up from a B+ to an A-, indications that TWU is listening to its students.
