School for Canada Committee
David Enarson, newly appointed to the General Board of the EFCA, was called on by President Arnold T. Olson to address the June 1958 conference. Enarson told those gathered “We need to plant a flag, a victory flag, a costly flag of Christian Higher Education in Canada.”
Enarson was appointed to an exploratory committee which recommended the establishment of a School for Canada Committee to “make a study of the possibility of establishing a school which would provide a course of study of one or two years with a view to meeting those needs by 1960.” The recommendation was approved.
Committee members included Enarson (Chair), Enoch Mattson (Secretary), Carl Fosmark, Carl Sundholm, Tony Hanson, and James Westman, with Arnold T. Olson, Will Norton, and G. Douglas Young serving as ex-officio members.
Olson stated at the time that “no project in the Free Church ever got as full an endorsement” as did Trinity Western.
