Music has always been a vital part of the Trinity experience. From 1962 to 1964 the college choir and men's quartet were led by Benno and Marjorie Friesen. (Benno was also TJC’s first Professor of English and History.) In 1964 Professor of Music Donald Jenkins joined the faculty, taking primary responsibility for the school's music program.
