Mattson Centre

The Enoch E. Mattson Centre, completed in the fall of 1976, served as the administrative hub of the college. Its rooms initially housed the Business Affairs department, Admissions, Public Affairs, the President’s Office, and the Board Room.

Designed by architect Ojars Kalns, the Mattson Centre was named in honour of the school’s first registrar, who had also served on the School-for-Canada Committee.

Renovations

Renovations undertaken in the summer of 1993 saw the addition of approximately 5000 square feet to the Mattson Centre.

Seventeen In 1962, total enrolment was 17; in 2008, the average class size was 17.
BOG The Board of Governors grew from 9 members in 1962 to 21 in 1982, and to 25 in 2004. In 2009, after restructuring, members numbered 15.
Majors By 1987 the school offered programs in 25 majors; by 2009, there were programs in 41 majors, as well as 17 graduate degrees.
Grads In 1963 4 students graduated from TJC; in 2010 412 students celebrated that milestone.
Enrolment In 1962 the school enrolled 17 students; in 1978 the 500-mark was exceeded. There were over 1000 students by 1986, over 2000 by 1994, over 3000 by 2001, and over 4000 in 2008.
Alumni By 2008, Trinity counted more than 18,000 alumni.
Personnel There were 15 staff and faculty in 1962, 199 by 1987, 299 by 1993, and 550 by 2010.
Tuition In 1964 Trinity students paid $200 per term for tuition.
