Trinity’s permanent new two-lane bridge was officially opened on Monday, October 23, 1989.
Until 1988 the bridge was a fickle wooden arrangement about eight feet lower than its successor… [Allan] Kotanen recalls a time when floods were the norm. On any given spring day after a heavy rainfall, students might leave their afternoon classes to find the bridge completely submerged.
