Law in Ottawa Travel Study (2011) at the Laurentian Leadership Centre

The School of Business is planning on another Travel Study to Ottawa in May 2011.  This travel study will be lead by Professor Kevin Sawatsky and Dr. Janet Epp-Buckingham.  You will hear from senior members of parliament, Judges, and Lawyers.  You will visit the Supreme Court of Canada as well as various other points of interest in Ottawa.

On this exciting Law trip to Ottawa you will get to stay in the Historic Laurentian Leadership Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. You will visit numerous legal sites around Ottawa including the Supreme Court of Canada, Parliament, Canadian Intellectual Property Office and others. This trip will include visiting numerous cultural sites around Ottawa, and will likely include a two day excursion to Historic Quebec City and a wind-up dinner cruise...the Kingston 1000 Island Cruise.

  • POLS 393 - Law, Public Policy, and Cultural Change (POLS 393 will satisfy the IDIS requirement)

Kenya & Uganda (2011) Business/Communications Travel Study

Get first-hand exposure to the challenges poor communities face in becoming self-sustaining.  Through lectures, tours, and observation you will learn about the role of the World Bank, the United Nations, and the governments of Canada and the US in international development.  You will discover how China is becoming a major player in the economies of Africa, and how big-businesses, such as Coca-Cola, are involved int he growth and development of these countries.
