Biography
Janet Devaney has more than 13 years experience with the Fortis group of companies since she began her career with FortisBC. During her career in the natural gas industry, Janet has held key management positions within operations and marketing, including a 3 year term working for a subsidiary company in California managing the supply and distribution of liquefied natural gas to the fast growing alternative transportation fuels market in the U.S.
In her current role as Business Development Manager, Janet’s responsibility is to grow FortisBC's rate base and revenues by pursuing profitable new alternative energy business opportunities. She is responsible for maintaining awareness of all activities that affect business development potential and develop plans to move proposed projects from the initial agreements through to implementation including the end to end business model and regulatory approval. Previously, she was Manager, Technical Sales Support which included managing and setting direction for a technical team to source and promote new gas technologies and provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
Janet lives in Port Moody with her husband and son and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Trinity Western University.
