More Fall Course Preparation
My other fall course is a third year course called Resource and Environmental Management. This topic is so broad in scope, and so deep in content, that a person could spend her or his whole career studying it. I have decided to focus on some pertinent ideas: natural disturbances, uncertainty, and conflict. As a thematic resource to exemplify these ideas, I have decided to examine forestry. I've planned some field trips which are already booked and which should be really interesting: one is to the Tree Seed Centre and the other to a nursery. I plan to run this course "backwards," so that we will look at wood as an end product, and then, through reading and field trips, track its way back to the seed.
