New Langley Bog Research
A new research project has been started in Environmental Studies and Geography. Headed up by Dr. Paul Brown and funded by the Pacific Parklands Foundation (PPF), the Langley Bog Research Project is a collaborative effort between (PPF) Trinity Western, Metro Vancouver, and the Township of Langley. I am involved, with David Jordan and Dr. David Clements, on gathering biophysical data and mapping ecological variables in an effort to gain a spatial perspective of the bog. Two of our graduates are assisting us, putting in many hours this summer, gathering coordinates with GPS units to map out areas that have been mined. Eventually, this project will continue to help restore the bog to full ecological health.
