I am a professor in two TWU departments: nursing and the graduate leadership program (MAL). My roles include teaching, administration, and research. I am a nurse by profession, have been so for many years, and have never, not even for a minute, regretted this choice! There are many fabulous things about nursing – also some tough and disgusting things – but the three that stand out for me at this point of my career are the opportunity to walk alongside people in the vast intrigues of life and death, health and illness; the flexibility the profession offers; and the general life skills embedded in nursing. I plan to give you a glimpse into the world of nursing and health care, as well as academic life at TWU with this blog….and along the way you’ll also hear about my lovely daughters, ages 8 & 11, who keep me and my husband Rob grounded and having fun.
