May 2010 from Kiev
It's May, 2010, here in the former Soviet Union. We as a family have had the enormous privilege of being in Kiev on leave of absence from TWU for the Spring Semester, I serving as Principal Guest Conductor of the Kiev Symphony and Chorus. We look forward to being back at TWU for the 2010-11 academic year, and if you're interested in singing we have a lot to offer!
Christmas at the Chan Centre is always a highlight for our singers and this coming fall it will be on the first Sunday afternoon of December, 2010. The season will also include singing Bach B minor mass with Vancouver Symphony under Bramwell Tovey, singing at Missions Fest Vancouver, and a concert with Vancouver Chamber Choir under Jon Washburn. Lots of great music to anticipate!
New singers might want to check out my previous posts, where I explain what's in the audition, and something of our vision and objectives.
We warmly welcome singers from all majors. We have a family of choirs at TWU. Choirs are a great place to make friends. Singing is a great way to add variety and spice into your academic schedule. Singing in a choir counts toward Fine Arts core requirement.
During September orientation week I am available EVERY DAY to meet you, answer questions and hear you sing. Welcome!
