I am also one of the founding scholars and co-director of the Gender Studies Institute. My primary research interests are in Medical Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence. I am particularly interested on Knowledge Representation for Decision Support, E-Learning, and Risk Assessment Intelligent Systems and their application to problems that deal with complex, multi-disciplinary data such as Type II Diabetes Mellitus, Cancer, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. As an extension from this research, I am also interested in studying the ethical, social, and gender issues that arise from research in Science, Medicine, and High Technology. As well as the use of web and mobile technologies for medical knowledge translation and e-learning to support learners with special needs.
