Biography
Catherine Hoe Eriksen is Associate Professor, Department of Nursing, Trinity Western University. Catherine was raised in North Vancouver and studied undergraduate nursing at University of British Columbia. Since commencing her clinical nursing career in 1976 she has nursed in a regional Critical Care/Trauma center, ICU's, community health nursing, teaching prenatal and working on a Family Birthing Unit as well as a contract as a nurse consultant to a law firm.
After many wonderful years of living in London, Ontario and teaching nursing at University of Western Ontario she learned that TWU was starting a Nursing program. The pull to return to "home" to the BC Lower Mainland area brought her to Trinity Western University in 1996. Considering herself blessed to teach in the only faith based baccalaureate nursing program in Canada and having earned tenure at TWU in 2001, she tells everyone that she's at TWU to stay.

Scholarship Interests & Involvements
Over the past five years Catherine Hoe Eriksen's research focus has been the Innovative Clinical Placements studies. Driven by the decline in traditional clinical placements for Nursing education, the Innovative Clinical Placements Research Team have been studying issues related to pedagogy, capacity and constraints surrounding the growing use of Innovative Clinical Placements in Canadian Nursing education.
