From 2004-2007, Ron wrote film reviews for Christianity Today Movies, and he is an active blogger in the areas of film, arts and culture; soulfoodmovies.blogspot.com; soulfoodvancouver.blogspot.com; oblations.blogspot.com. His article on the future of live theatre was featured in the fifteenth anniversary issue of IMAGE: A Journal of the Arts & Religion, and his entry on "Live Theatre" is found in The Complete Book of Everyday Christianity, ed. Robert Banks & R. Paul Stevens (IV Press, 1997). Most recently, Ron wrote the Introduction to Faith on Stage: Five Complete Plays (CITA, 2007). PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Ron Reed is the artistic director of Pacific Theatre, which he founded in 1984. As an actor, Ron has four times been nominated for Jessie Richardson awards: other notable roles include Charlie in The Foreigner, George in Tent Meeting, Matt Friedmann in Talley's Folly, Bob in The Casino, and the one-man shows Damien and The Top Ten Thousand of All Time. In October 2008 he will play Keith in Mourning Dove at Pacific Theatre. As a playwright, his 19 plays have recieved over 50 productions around North America: Refuge of Lies opens off-Broadway at the Lion Theatre in New York City in September 2008, and in spring 2009 Atlanta's Theatrical Outfit will produce Tent Meeting (written with Morris Ertman), under the direction of Tom Key. Ron chaired the Christians In Theatre Arts New Play Competition from 1996 to 2003, and taught playwriting master classes and acting workshops at national conferences in Los Angeles, Berkely, Chicago, Houston, Minneapolis, Houston and Seattle. He was a participant and dramaturg at the Lamb's Players Writers Week in San Diego from 1996 to 2003, and at the Art Within Playwrights Symposium and Showcase 2003 to 2005 in Atlanta. Ron has taught acting at TWU since 1998, and in 2006 was named Artist-in-Residence at TWU: in that capacity, he has directed Emerging Artist Showcase productions of Remnants: A Fable (2007) and You Can't Take It With You (2008) on the Pacific Theatre stage and will direct You Still Can't in 2009. He has also taught "The Christian Imagination" at Regent College, and four times co-taught Regent College summer school courses at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival with Loren Wilkinson. In 2003 he was the keynote speaker at the "Vocacio" Arts & Faith Conference at Schloss Mittersill, Austria, and in 2004 Ron presented the annual Art alks lecture series at the Institute for Christian Studies in Toronto.
