The Foreign Affairs Society (FAS) is Trinity Western’s student-led nonpartisan political and international relations club. FAS meets Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the TWUSA office. Brooke Goossen is the current FAS President. Brooke’s a third year student, majoring in International Affairs and Global Policy and recently returned from the TWU's Laurentian Leadership Centre. She spends way to much time at Starbucks sipping on caramel macchiatos. In her spare time she enjoys reading the biographies of political refugees and traveling all around the world.
This year, FAS is planning on attending community events that promote international issues. FAS will be venturing downtown for the International Film Festival and to UBC for their distinguished lecture series! Throughout the year FAS members also have the opportunity to participate in various Model United Nations (MUN) within the Lower Mainland and host Trinity Western University’s own Model United Nations. MUN’s are a critical part of the FAS because they enable students to learn more about international politics and some of the critical issues that face today’s world. It is an excellent opportunity to use and refine skills in public speaking, critical thinking and diplomacy all the while forming great friendships with one another.
