 Year:   2nd year

Where You Are From:   Ladner, B.C.

 MAIH Stream:   History

Area of Specialization:    Nursing History, Canadian  History, Gender History

Why did you choose the MAIH?   I entered the MAIH program because I was really excited about the possibility of working with my thesis  advisors.  Nursing history is a relatively small field in  Canada and I was fortunate to find advisors who were working in the field and who were  interested in my topic.

Describe your time/experience at the MAIH thus far:   My experience as an MAIH student has been both challenging and fantastic = a fantastic challenge!  What I love most: 1) Incredible  classes.  I learned the most in the  classes where everyone contributed, exciting ideas were exchanged and there was vibrant discussion!  2) Collegiality.  During my two years in the MAIH  program, I have spent certain days every week working on campus with various graduate  students.  It has been a pleasure to work alongside other students and to share the journey (and  struggles) of graduate school with them.  3) Exceptional Scholars.  TWU employs some of the most amazing historians and it has been a privilege to learn so much from so many of them!
