TWU offers a Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership. The purpose of this certificate is to provide current and prospective school leaders such as principals, assistant principals, and curriculum coordinators with a group of courses that develop insights and skills into the application of the Biblical model of servant leadership to educational situations. This certificate requires 18 hours (6 courses) of graduate level course work and is particularly intended for teachers who have a B.A. or a B.Sc. degree plus at least one year of teacher training (i.e., the equivalent of a 5 year B.Ed. degree).
To obtain this certificate you must successfully complete:
• LDRS 500 (3) Leadership Foundations
• EDUC 624 (3) School Leadership and Supervision
AND FOUR OF:
• LDRS 503 (3) Results Based Leadership
• EDUC 620 (3) Worldview Foundations for Educational Leadership
• EDUC 623 (3) Developing Educational Programs
• EDUC 625 (3) School Leadership and the Dynamics of Change
• EDUC 626 (3) Leadership for Contemporary Education Issues
An approved 3 sem. hr. equivalent graduate course with an educational leadership component. This could be a course developed for multi-institutional use by ABCDE institutions.
NOTE: LDRS 500 and 503 are taken in cohorts that involve students from different leadership streams (business, health, non-profit organizations).
Participants will be able to complete the Educational Leadership Certificate in a time frame ranging from 14 months to two years.
