LDRS 651 - Theory and Practice of Volunteers  (3 S. Hrs)

This course will help you understand and utilize key concepts and practices related to
volunteerism. You will explore various theories related to volunteerism, interrogate them,
and use the emergent knowledge to formulate volunteerism "best practices" for your
organization. Specific areas of focus for the course include the qualities and common
characteristics of volunteers, how to recruit and keep outstanding volunteers, the
connections between servant leadership and volunteerism, and how to foster a learning
orientation amongst volunteers.
