We at the MA in Leadership department are excited and proud to mark the tenth anniversary of a program that many of our students and alums say is an important learning and growth experience. The MA Leadership degree program teaches transformational organizational servant leadership (TOSL) focused on people and based upon the life and teachings of Jesus. We emphasize effective leadership (TOSL) modeling through organizational leadership research, exciting inter-disciplinary learning, practical application to the needs of the workplace, and participative teaching from recognized professionals.
The Master of Arts in Leadership is our flagship graduate program in leadership and offers two study options for the MA in Leadership degree:
- 26-month "study while you work," open to all streams
- 13-month accelerated "full-time study" option, open to all streams
Face-to-face (On Campus study):
The program consists of both face-to-face and online courses. Four of five core courses are taught on campus and are geared toward students establishing a strong sense of relational community with their fellow learners and faculty. This foundation of community allows for a different learning experience than what fully online programs can offer. The on campus courses create a professional network for our students, and this sense of community carries through the remainder of the year, resulting in creative and challenging interactive online learning during the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters.
Online Study:
The specialized study courses in the areas of Business, Health care, Christian ministry, Education, and Non-profit are taught online through interactive learning forums, one course per 10-week semesters: Sept.-Nov., Jan.-Mar., and, Mar.-May.
Major Project:
The MA Leadership program focuses on scholarly research and real-life application. To this end, every student is required to complete a thoroughly researched, work-related leadership project.
Degree Cost:
Thirty students are accepted into each summer cohort. For the 2010/11 academic year our tuition fee is competitively priced at $623/credit hour, costing approximately $23,674 for the entire 26 month program.
