Cost and Scholarships

- 25-Month Program Cost
- The following fees are approximate and apply to students beginning the program in May or July of 2010 and completing the program by August 2012. Fees are subject to change.
- Tuition for the entire 25-month program is approximately $23,647 CDN.
- The rate for May 1, 2010 - April 30, 2011 is $623/credit hour plus a student fee of $3/ credit hour.
- 12-Month Accelerated Program
- The following fees are approximate and apply to students beginning the program in May or July of 2010 and completing the program by fall 2011. Fees are subject to change.
- Tuition for the entire 12-month program is approximately $23,647 CDN.
- The rate for May 1, 2010 - April 30, 2011 is $623/credit hour plus a student fee of $3/ credit hour.
- Graduate Certificate in Leadership Program
- The cost of the Graduate Certificate in Leadership for students beginning summer 2010 is approximately $683.00 CDN per credit hour.

Leadership Entrance Scholarship
Amount: $3,500; 7 granted per academic year
Applicants will be evaluated on:
- Financial need
- Leadership goals
- Letter of reference from immediate supervisor
- Admission application criteria (admitted to MAL Degree program)
- Students must meet scholarship criteria

Don & Annabelle Page Master of Arts in Leadership
Amount: $800.00 (One available per school year)
- The recipient must complete a one page letter detailing their financial situation (including yearly income) over the previous 3 years.
- The recipient must have successfully completed 12 semester hours of the MAL Degree program, Christian Ministry stream, with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Other Scholarships
Certificate in Educational Leadership Bursaries
Amount: $1,500, five available
Criteria:
- The BCELC bursaries will be available to residents of British Columbia who possess a valid teaching certificate.
- Applicants must have been accepted into the CEL or MAEL program, and indicate that they will request to be issued the Certificate in Educational Leadership when they have met all requirements. They must also indicate on their application form that they intend to complete the Certificate program within a 26-month period. Note: All CEL courses can be laddered into the MAEL program.
- On the application form, applicants will describe why they deserve to receive a bursary on the basis of financial need and future plans.

Submit the application form and a brief statement describing the reasons why you believe you should receive a bursary, mentioning both financial need and future plans as an informal or formal leader in education. Essay and application will be reviewed by MAL Director Stan Remple and MAL Education Stream Coordinator Vern Storey.

Senior Women Academic Administrators of Canada (SWAAC) Graduate Student Award of Merit
Amount: $2,500 (annual) Eligibility: Women registered in Master's or PhD programs at Member institution of AUCC Criteria: 1). Outstanding academic performance 2). Evidence of leadership, including, but not limited to such things as:
- executive positions in student organizations
- participation on committees (student or university committees)
- organization of special events, conferences, etc.
- involvement in advocacy groups
- involvement in volunteer organizations, within the campus setting and/or general community
If you believe you fit the criteria and are interested in being considered, send a paragraph of no more than 300 words detailing why you should be chosen for nomination by MAL. Please respond by Wednesday Nov 4th to program coordinator Chelica Hiltunen (chelica.hiltunen@twu.ca). MAL will decide on the candidate for nomination by Friday Nov 6th. At that time the nominee will be notified as to what supporting documents they will need to provide by Friday Nov 20th. Only one nominee will be selected from all of TWU’s graduate programs.

CP Aboriginal Leadership ScholarshipAmount: $23,500 over 2 years Criteria:
- Aboriginal student
- Admitted to the MAL program
- Student must maintain full-time status
- GPA 3.0 or higher
- Financial need
Submit a 500 word essay detailing how you will apply your education-learning experience to Aboriginal development to Financial Awards: awards@twu.ca.
