Office of Research and Faculty Development

Mission

The mission of the Office of Research and Faculty Development is to enrich the learning environment of Trinity Western University by furthering the professional development and growth of faculty in their role as teacher-scholars. The Office of Research and Faculty Development recognizes that the creation of a climate which fosters research and other scholarly activities is essential to the achievement of Trinity Western University's mission as a Christian liberal arts university. At the same time, it recognizes that teaching is a significant domain of scholarship within the various disciplines and is worthy of direct attention, focus and ongoing improvement.

  • undertake activities which creates an environment that encourages scholarly reflection and research
  • stimulate faculty to develop and improve their skills as both researchers and teachers
  • provide a resource to faculty for reaching their full potential as teacher-scholars.
  • provide and coordinate instruction in enhancing insight and abilities in areas such as teaching and research, integration of faith and discipline in teaching and scholarship, and grantsmanship.
