Message from the Chair
The Department of Art + Design is a community of faculty and students who dwell in the realms of creativity and innovative thinking. We strive to encourage each other to find and develop her or his God-given "visual voice."
As a student, you will be encouraged to immerse yourself in the rich visual traditions of the past as well as master the new visual disciplines, which are shaping today's complex world of media and artistic expression. Meaning is increasingly disseminated through the visual, making careers in visual arts increasingly critical in a media-saturated society.
As artist/teachers, our faculty range from digital designers, photographers, printmakers, ceramicists, art historians and studio artists. We strive to protect an environment and community that is necessary for the creativity of students to flourish. It is a privilege for us to be able to engage with student's work and have them see and engage in our own artwork.
