Cinergy: a festival of short films
Every April our film students exhibit their creativity and receive accolades and feedback from Vancouver area film critics. Cinergy features film shorts in dramatic, experimental, comedy, and horror genres, entirely written, shot, directed, and edited by students.
Vignettes: an evening of new student literature
The nonfiction our students read and write falls into the category of personal narrative: memoir, travel writing, and personal essays on topics they’re passionate about. We play with form in creative ways: vignette, mosaic, collage, montage — all terms stolen from photography. We play with style in creative ways. As photography does, we look at the art in truth. We shape our vision with words, using various lenses and focal lengths: closeups, long shots, portraits, landscapes. Whatever we call it — creative nonfiction, literary journalism, personal narrative — it’s an adventure.back to top
