Chamber Music Night
December 1, 2010
7:30 pm - Instrumental Hall, Music Building
Admission by donation, $5 suggested
On the evening of December 1, members of the small ensembles of Trinity Western University’s Music Department will present an evening of Chamber Music.
An eclectic and entertaining variety of music will be performed by the TWU Guitar Ensemble and TWU Woodwind Quintet. Audience members will be treated to a variety of music including classical, popular and traditional standards.
When asked about the program Tim Olsen, the coach of the TWU Guitar Ensemble indicated that they will “present a journey through time on high tension wires”. This journey includes a traditional tune “Greensleeves” and the rock standard “Dust in the Wind”. A portion of Beethoven’s Quintet in E-flat will be performed by the Woodwind Quintet, as well as a quintet by Giuseppe Maria Cambini. Cambini is noted for being one of the first composers to write music for wind quintet.
