SAMC Music presents a special recital featuring the talents of its distinguished faculty members. Escape with Music For A While and enjoy the works of Liszt, Chopin, Faure, and Kurtág.

  • Alison Nystrom, Soprano – opera credits include The Magic Flute, Orpheus in the Underworld, and La Cenerentola; art song recitalist; oratorio soloist
  • Ian Hampton, Cello – formerly principal cellist of Vancouver Symphony, Vancouver Opera Orchestra, and CBC Radio Orchestra; founding member of Purcell String Quartet and Langley Community Music School
  • Kathryn Schmidt, Piano – concert pianist and chamber musician; film and television recording artist; recital appearances in USA, Canada, and Austria
  • Suzanne Klukas, Piano – Canada Council grant recipient; art song interpreter and chamber musician; guest artist at Vancouver International Song Institute and Slovenian Chamber Music Festival
  • Edward Norman, Organ – concert organist; formerly Vancouver Symphony Orchestra organist; church musician; appearances in Japan, Poland, and Germany
