A word about the title & theme of the show from the curators, Laura Breukelman and Sheri-Anne Vis: We have invited visual artists working two-dimensionally in drawing, painting, photography, printmaking or mixed media, to investigate the theme of renewal and restoration. The idea is not to mask or cover over something that is inherently flawed or useless, but a sort of discovery and excavation of that which was good but has been lost. We are looking for fresh approaches in articulating our common desire and hope for newness through diversity of interpretation and metaphor.
