Calvin B. Hanson Chapel

photos of the Calvin B. Hanson Chapel For more than four decades, the Calvin B. Hanson Chapel has been the hub of campus life at TWU. Some alumni recall the building as a place of teaching. For others, it was a place of worship, music and celebration. TWU seeks to explore the opportunity of re-developing the Hanson Chapel as a campus focal point - a place of convergence for encountering God in community. The Chapel project is proposed to be principally funded by Alumni contributions.

The proposed new Hanson Chapel is presently conceptualized on a holistic framework that reflects the human experience with the "whole gospel." Located at the heart of the campus, the Chapel will fit within the architectural theme of the campus master plan, while remaining reminiscent of the original structure: it will feature the old rock wall and incorporate significant symbols of our Christian faith.

Hanson Chapel will once again become the home for praise services, concerts, symposia, weddings, memorial services and quiet contemplation. It could also include areas for lectures, choral instruction, conferences, and small group Bible study.
