In fact, recent recruiting events have produced more than 100 new inquiries in the last two weeks. There are three weeks remaining until Orientation Day. We're making solid progress toward the goal of 800 new students. But we still need and appreciate your referrals for this fall! The project? Produce a computer based video game that would be created by students from a multitude of disciplines across the university ranging from computer sciences to music and art. On June 26th, Barranco-Mendoza, Schut and the students, going under the name Bonus Marks Entertainment launched the turn-based strategy game Label: Rise of Band to the public. more... | | |  | | The Vancouver Canucks announced that TWU Alum Ryan Walter will join the team as Assistant Coach. During the past 15 years, Walter has earned his masters of arts degree in leadership/business at TWU and has worked with professional athletes and executives to maximize their potential both physically and mentally. He has been a successful public speaker, author and business leader. more... | | |  | | Looking out through the box office window at Pacific Theatre, Langley's Dan Amos has only a couple of weeks to find out if his company's theatre production of A Man for All Seasons will win the nominated Jessie awards. Just over a year and a half ago the 25-year-old Trinity Western University alum started the Midnight Theatre Collective, a company focused on enabling artists to self-produce their own shows. more... | | |  | | While other students searched for summer jobs, Trinity Western University Business students came face to face with the reality of Canadian politics. TWU students went to stay at the Laurentian Leadership Centre for TWU's first ever summer travel study to the Ottawa extension site. Spotlight  | | Brian and Heather (Evans) Langford (1997)Brian and Heather are celebrating their 11th anniversary and the birth of their 6th baby, Jubilee Grace. The Langfords' lives continue to be enriched. Brian and Heather also work at a youth centre called "The Hub" through the ministry, CrossTrainers. As missionaries to the youth of Bradford, Ontario, their journey proves to be an exciting and scary one as God continues to increase their faith and provided for their needs. | | |  | | Gerry Teichrob (2005)Since graduating from ACTS, life has been very interesting for Gerry - both career-wise and personal. Gerry has established Pathways Forward, a consulting ministry that helps churches through leadership transitions. Gerry is also involved with both teaching and performing music through One to One Guitar Studios a 5 piece jazz band called Quintessential. | | |  | | Hayley Wallace (2006)Hayley is working with the Peace Corps in Maurtiania, she is in a new sector called "Girl's Education and Empowerment". Hayley recently started the first Girls' Mentoring Center in Akjoujt, Mauritania with the goal to increase both the education level and trade-skill level of young women. The center is run by a group of Mauritanian volunteers, both teachers and parents, who give classes to young women in a variety of subjects. | | |  | | Kara Pecknold (1993)Kara will be participating in a summer internship this year, where she will be travelling to Rwanda to work on a sustainable development project. This internship is housed by the AUCC's "Students for Development" program. The project focuses on a significant environmental concern in Rwanda: a parasitic plant known as the water hyacinth. Arriving in Halifax on Aug 2, they made it from Vancouver to Halifax in an impressive 62 days! The $44,000 raised will go towards building a training center for Teachers in Rwanda through the Wellspring Foundation. | | |
