December 2009
I just took a walk through Reimer Student Centre and there is a forest of Christmas Trees decorating the halls. The Christmas spirit has definitely hit TWU. And this is just the beginning.
This Friday and Saturday (December 4 – 5) the Spirit of Christmas comes to TWU. Make sure to come out and bring the whole family. Activities include a traditional outdoor living nativity, petting zoo, craft fair, musical groups, children’s activities, and much more. The festivities will be open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. for both nights.
I hope to see you there!
Regardless of where you are this Christmas season, I wish you, and your family all the best as we all celebrate the real reason for Christmas – the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May He always be the source of our celebration.
Merry Christmas, alumni!

Spirit of Christmas For Taryne Lepp of Langley, Christmas comes twice a year, once on its expected date, and once in early December as she volunteers with Trinity Western University’s annual Spirit of Christmas. Since the event’s conception four years ago, Lepp has been one of the many volunteers who have helped keep things running smoothly, and has shared the Christmas cheer with the community. |

From Cambodia to TWU At first glance, Sureyah Tach looks like any other Trinity Western University student. Wearing a TWU sweat-shirt with baggy jeans and sneakers, and sporting the quintessential student accessory – a backpack - the 20-year-old matches pretty much everyone around him at school…but what doesn’t match is his story.
Growing up outside of Phnom Penh, Cambodia he had a happy life, with a mother, father and six siblings. But when Sureyah was six, his mother died of high blood pressure, and then at the age of 12, he lost his father to liver disease. The young Cambodian and his brothers and sisters were displaced, leaving him to grow up in an orphanage. |

Israel Travel Study (May 2010) When a person enters the Holy Land, the experience of the Scriptures is altered from black and white to living colour. The stories, places, and customs of the Bible take on life and speak with renewed power. As visitors in this ‘living bible’ we will explore archaeological sites, walk on desert paths and mountain trails, search out springs and caves while following the routes of migrating Israelites, the Kings, and the Messiah. You will encounter nomadic Bedouin people, the world of Moses, the Judean wilderness, the hometown of Jesus, and the City of David. You will experience floating on the Dead Sea, and life at a kibbutz guest house. |
