June, 2009 Newsletter

June 2009
Greetings alumni,

With the spring semester all wrapped up and the summer programming well underway, there is much to celebrate and look forward to in the upcoming school year. We have had a very busy semester, finishing up with some key events. On June 17, 40 alumni came to our Alumni luncheon on campus to hear alumnus Ryan Williams speak on social media. It was fascinating and a bit eerie at the same time. Ryan outlined how social technology, such as Myspace, Facebook, Twitter and software that combines all of those services, is changing the way we live — it truly was an eye-opening presentation.

Then, on June 25 we honoured Richard Taylor and Dave MacDonald with the Alumni Young and Distinguished awards, respectively. It was great to see another two pictures on the Alumni Hall wall of fame! Dave and Richard may be two of the most humble men I have ever met, making them worthy recipients of the Alumni Award. What a tremendous night of honouring them and reflecting on the quality of graduates Trinity Western University produces.

We will be taking a short break from the monthly e-letters for the summer, but look for an exciting new edition in September, 2009.

Have a wonderful summer; and remember to take time to enjoy life and family!

Blessings,
