June, 2010 Newsletter

June 2010

Greetings Alumni,

Can you believe it is June already? Students have been gone for over a month and I have to admit – I miss them. They bring so much life to the campus, and remind me of my time as a student, here at TWU.

However, there was a huge injection of life a few weeks ago in May when we had over 30 women from the first five years of Trinity Junior College come together for the “Early 1960’s Women’s Reunion.” Attendees had such a great time that they are going to start up a local “sub-chapter” so that they can keep on connecting with each other. What a testimony to the power of reunions! It truly was a fantastic weekend.

If you are looking for a way to reconnect with former classmates, don’t miss the TWU Lifelong Learning Cruise to Mexico! It is only eight months away, so if you haven’t marked February 20 – 27 on your calendar, make sure to do so.

The Lifelong Learning Cruise leaves out of LA and tours the Mexican Riviera, making three stops at Mexican ports. During the three days at sea, hear from Paul Chamberlain, Ph.D., speaking on such topics as “religious pluralism” and “violence done in the name of religion.” It is guaranteed to be a fascinating time. See below for more information.

I am still looking for “300” to pray regularly for TWU, so if you feel that God is calling you to that, please let me know, and I will add you to our info list.

Also, keep in mind that the Alumni E-letter will be taking a two-month hiatus, as usual, this summer. So, this will be the last edition until September.

Well, I hope that your summer is full of fun and family, and that you take time to remember how fortunate we are to be redeemed in Jesus’ name!

God’s richest blessing,

Alumni Reminder

Opportunity for book research
Gordon Chutter thanks those who replied to his request in the last e-letter. There is still opportunity, until June 14, to hear from a few more alumni. Gordon is looking for a short account (3-4 lines) of spiritually transforming experiences while at TWU. This could include coming to faith or experiencing a significant renewal in your Christian walk, while you were a student on campus. Selected testimonies will appear in the forthcoming book, Called to Transform.

No summer e-letter
As is customary, we will be taking a hiatus from Alumni E-letters for July and August. We hope you enjoy your summer and look for the next Alumni E-letter in early September.

2011 TWU Lifelong Learning Cruise
Mark your calendars for February 20-27, 2011. The next TWU Lifelong Learning Cruise will be taking off from LA on a seven-day Mexican Riviera cruise. Come enjoy the cruising lifestyle with the added value of three special speaker sessions while at sea. This year's guest: Paul Chamberlain, Ph.D., Director of the Institute for Christian Apologetics. Also, TWU President Jonathan S. Raymond, Ph.D., will be giving daily devotions.
To find out more about this cruise, please go to TWU Lifelong Learning Cruise.
