March 2009
Greetings Alumni,
I am very excited to tell you about a brand new initiative the Alumni Relations Department has implemented: the Alumni Call Centre! This is a program that has current Trinity Western University students calling each alumnus twice a year in an attempt to engage alumni with the school. This is not a fundraising initiative, and you will not be asked to give money. We are simply trying to "re-kindle" relationships with alumni. The objective of these calls will be to inform alumni of current events at TWU, update contact information, advertise upcoming events, request feedback on alumni experience at Trinity Western, and solicit suggestions on how the Alumni Relations Department can serve you better.
To meet your Call Centre team, please go to our website.
Please ensure we have your current contact info (especially your phone number), so that you can be a part of this initiative. We look forward to connecting with each one of you.
Blessings,
Dave Swan ('95) Director of Alumni Trinity Western University

It is with deep sadness that I advise you of the death of Dr. Barbara Pell. After a courageous battle with cancer, Barbara passed away on Monday, March 9 at 5 p.m.
Barbara was a beloved Professor of English at TWU who taught between 1985 and 2006.
Barbara will be remembered by her students and colleagues for her unflinching commitment to excellence, and her enduring love and heartfelt commitment to the study of English.
Please join with me in prayer for her husband, Archie, and their family.

One Eye Integration (OEI), currently in its clinical trials, support the adage: "the eyes really are the windows to the soul." OEI was originally discovered by Vancouver psychotherapist Audrey Cook and co-developed with her business partner, psychologist Dr. Rick Bradshaw, who is also an Associate Professor of Counselling Psychology at TWU. The two therapists have been using OEI to identify and unlock traumatic memories stored in areas of the brain that are seldom touched through traditional psychotherapy or hypnotic techniques. Dr. Phil Laird, Associate Professor of Psychology at Trinity Western University, points out that although we can expect some people to get more depressed, perhaps even suicidal, when the economy plummets, others will thrive - it really all depends on the value that individuals place on money. Petrina Bainard - 2000
Petrina and her husband Dan are excited about their new arrival of their third baby, Sage Malaya born October 10th, 2007. She joins her brother McKinley, 5 and sister Skylar, 7 1/2 years old to make a family of five. In addition to their family size the family took on a major project-a 1976 rancher which they renovated on their own this year. Dan continues in his sixth year at Pacific Academy in Surrey, BC and is currently the High School Athletic Director/PE teacher. He also started and maintains their P.A.C.E (Pacific Academy Continuing Education) Program during the spring and summer breaks.
