FARKASH FINISHES AMONGST TOP 50 WOMEN IN VANCOUVER SUN RUN
VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Trinity Western track and cross country runner and swimmer Alison Farkash posted a personal best Vancouver Sun Run time of 39:14 Sunday as she was the 42nd woman overall to cross the finish line, and seventh amongst women aged 19-24, in the 10 km event.
In the world’s second largest timed 10 km race, one that featured 49,365 participants, Farkash averaged 3:56 per kilometre.
Farkash, who competes for both the Spartans swim team and the running teams, while also training individually on her bike, is preparing for a summer of competing in high-calibre triathlons.
After joining the Spartans this past spring, Farkash helped lead the Spartans track and field team at the Canada West Championships with her most notable race being an 11th place finish in the 3000m race, in a time of 10:56.77.
