SEVEN TRACK & FIELD ATHLETES TO REPRESENT B.C. THIS SUMMER
LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western track and field team will be well-represented on the national stage this summer as seven athletes will compete for Team B.C. at either the 2013 Canada Summer Games or the 2013 Canadian Track and Field Championships.
The Canadian Track and Field Championships, which will be held June 20-23 in Moncton, N.B. will feature TWU’s Katelynn Ramage (Nanaimo, B.C.), who will compete in the 20km race walk, as well as Nathan George (Coquitlam, B.C.), who will run in the 400m. Also, incoming athlete Declan White (Surrey, B.C.), who will join the Spartans in this fall, will compete for Team B.C. in the 1500m.
As for the Canada Summer Games, which will be held Aug. 11-8 in Sherbrooke, Que., the Spartans will have five athletes donning B.C. blue.
The competition, which features athletes from ages 16 to 22, will see Fiona Benson (Dawson Creek, B.C.) running in the 2000m steeplechase and 5000m, James Linde (Coquitlam) competing in the 100m, Chris Voth (Abbotsford, B.C.) running in the 5000m and George contending in the 200m. Incoming athlete Regan Yee (South Hazelton, B.C.) will also be competing, alongside Benson, in the 2000m steeplechase and the 5000m.
