Competing in a meet largely featuring NCAA Division 1 schools, Marchant’s vault, which placed her second in her flight, betters the 3.82m she cleared at the University of Washington Indoor Preview Jan. 12.

Also vaulting for the Spartans Friday was Ivonne Zuniga (Mexicali, Mexico), who cleared 3.33m, which placed her seventh, and, on the men’s side, Jesse Phillips (Anaheim, Cali.), who cleared 4.35m, which was good for sixth in his flight.

On the track, TWU’s Maya Daly (Ajax, Ont.) and James Linde (Coquitlam, B.C.) posted personal bests in the 200m dash.

Daly put up a time of 25.67 as she finished 25th overall while James Linde crossed the line 19th overall with a time of 22.64.

Daly’s previous season’s best was 26.13, which she clocked at the University of Washington Indoor Preview Jan. 12. This was Linde’s first time he has run the 200m as a Spartan.

The Spartans will be back in action Saturday as the UW Invitational continues.
