LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western men’s hockey team added a key piece to its defensive core as coach Barret Kropf officially announced the signing of Surrey Eagles blueliner Karsten Seidel (Delta, B.C.) Thursday.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Ryan Bakken (Langley) will be coming home next fall and returning to play at the Langley Events Centre as the former Langley Rivermen (BCHL) captain will join the Trinity Western men’s hockey team this fall. Spartans coach Barret Kropf officially announced the signing Tuesday.
SPARTANS BESTED BY SELKIRK IN CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

CASTLEGAR, British Columbia – The Trinity Western men’s hockey team saw its season come to an end in Game 2 of the BCIHL championship series as the Spartans lost to Selkirk in 5-1 Saturday and, having lost Friday’s series-opener, watched the Saints capture the league title.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – After an upset win over favoured Simon Fraser in the BCIHL semifinals, the Trinity Western men’s hockey team will look to duplicate its effort this weekend as it aims for the league title against top ranked Selkirk in the Spartans first appearance in a league championship game or series.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western’s JP Villeneuve (Georgetown, Ont.) made program history Tuesday as he became the first Spartan to be named BCIHL MVP (co-winner, along with Selkirk’s Logan Proulx) as well as being named Rookie of the Year while Barret Kropf also joined in on the groundbreaking front as he became the first TWU coach to win BCIHL Coach of the Year (co-winner with Selkirk’s Jeff Dubois) honours.

BURNABY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western Spartans and the Simon Fraser Clan played an outstanding BCIHL play-off game Friday night at the Bill Copeland Arena. But the outcome was not to the Spartans liking as the Clan took game two of the best of three series 2-0. The SFU win ties the series at 1-1 and forces a do-or-die game three on Sunday evening. Puck drop in Burnaby is set for 8 p.m. PST.

And that is what the Spartans got tonight as goaltender Silas Matthys and forward JP Villeneuve led Trinity Western to a 3-2 BCIHL semi-final play-off victory over the visiting Simon Fraser University Clan Thursday night at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C.
