ZWIERS NAMED BCIHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LANGLEY, British Columbia –
Trinity Western University goaltender Tim Zwiers has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending October 30th.

Zwiers was a difference-maker in a pair of weekend starts, first helping the Spartans to their first victory of the season by stopping 24 shots in a 3-1 decision over visiting Selkirk College on Friday night before facing a season-high 52 shots in a 3-3 draw with Okanagan College Saturday. The latter performance included 20 saves in the third period to help preserve a point for TWU.

Zwiers's totals for the weekend included a win and a tie in two starts, as well as a 2.00 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage. His overall GAA (2.72) and SV% (.926) stand fifth and third respectively amongst all BCIHL netminders.

Runners up for this week's award included Simon Fraser University forward Kyle Leung, Trinity Western University forward Trevor Beaupre and Selkirk College forward Jordan Wood.
