SPARTANS AND VIKES BATTLE IN LANGLEY EVENTS CENTRE BASKETBALL SEASON OPENER

LANGLEY, British Columbia - The Trinity Western University Spartans are set to take on the University of Victoria Vikes in this weekend in two basketball contests, Fri. at 8 p.m. and Sat. at 7 p.m. in the Spartans basketball home openers at the Langley Events Centre. The Spartans went 2-0 last weekend with a pair of road wins against Brandon (83-63) and Regina (81-74). The Vikes are also coming into tonight’s game with a pair of wins last weekend as they downed the Alberta (74-66) and Saskatchewan (82-54). The last time these two teams met was in last year’s Pacific Division semi-final, which the Spartans took two games to one at TWU.

OREM, Utah – Jacob Doerksen (Abbotsford, B.C.) with 28 points and 11 rebounds and Louis Hurd (Spokane, Wash.) with 20 points led the Trinity Western University men’s basketball team to a 77-58 victory over NCAA Div. I Utah Valley University Tuesday evening at the McKay Center in Orem, Utah.

LANGLEY, B.C. – This past weekend members of the Trinity Western University men’s basketball team took time off from their study’s and training to take a trip to the community of Alert Bay, B.C. to help run the Alert Bay First Nations sport development clinic and coaching workshops on Sept. 18 and 19.
