TONNER TO TWU
-White Rock standout heads to Spartans

LANGLEY, British Columbia - Trinity Western University men's basketball coach Scott Allen announced Thursday afternoon that he has added White Rock Christian's Tonner Jackson (South Surrey, B.C.) to the 2008-09 recruiting class.

"Tonner will immediately contribute to the program at TWU. He is an unselfish athlete that understands the concept of sacrificing of the individual for the betterment of the whole," said Allen. "He has great range for a 6'6" wing player and his high basketball IQ, [which] shows in tough basketball situations, will allow him to contribute in areas where he is needed. I expect big things in the future out of this young gentleman."

The highly sought after guard/forward, who is averaging 15 points-per-game, eight rebounds-per-game, has been named a Fraser Valley first team all-star as well as a Western Canada first team all-star. He is currently a starter for the White Rock Christian Warriors who are playing in next week's BC Provincial Boy's Basketball Championships, Mar. 11-15.

Jackson, who will be enrolled in TWU's School of Business, is a two time Honour Roll Student and a member of the WRCA Principal's List.

Trinity Western University, in Langley, B.C. is an independent Christian liberal arts and sciences university enrolling approximately 4000 students. TWU offers undergraduate degrees in 40 major areas of study ranging from biotechnology, education, nursing, theatre and music, to psychology, communications and biblical studies.
