FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ROOKIE SHOWS WELL IN DEBUT
-Spartans fall in NCAA exhibition

LANGLEY, British Columbia - Rookie Billy Glowacki was named the Spartans player of the game in his first game at Trinity Western University's David E. Enarson Gym. The Spartans fell 108-77 to NCAA Div. I Boise State University in the pre-season exhibition game Saturday night. But the rookie guard from Saginaw, Mich. showed well creating havoc on defense, running the point position while knocking down 13 points and adding five assists.

The Spartans fell behind 33-26 in a highly entertaining first quarter. But despite the frantic pressure that TWU put on Boise State the Broncos were able to widen their lead to 66-45 at the half.

Boise continued to extend their lead up 87-60 at the end of the third quarter before closing out the game leading 108-77.

Luke Robinson (5th year, guard, Ahousat, B.C.) led the Spartans in scoring with 21 points, while forward Lance Verhoeff (2nd year, Calgary) led TWU in rebounding with five boards. The Broncos Aaron Garner (West Sacramento, Calf.) led all scorers with 31 points, with teammate Zack Moritz (Vancouver, Wash.) leading the way in rebounding with six boards.

Next up for the Spartans is the University of Oklahoma Sooners on Sunday night. Special game time at TWU's David E. Enarson Gym is set for 9 p.m.
