VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Former Trinity Western men’s soccer defender Paul Hamilton, who now plays professionally for FC Edmonton, was back in Vancouver this week for his team’s game against Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the second leg of the Amway Canadian Championship semifinal. SpartansTV was at training Tuesday and caught up with the former Spartan.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – With a roster full of seniors and plenty of experience on the pitch, the Spartans 2011 men’s soccer season was filled with promise and hope for a return to national prominence. But while Trinity Western put together an impressive regular season – finishing third in Canada West with an 8-4-2 record and being ranked in the CIS Top 10 twice – it all came to a heartbreaking end when the Spartans saw their hopes of a berth in the national championship dashed when they lost to UBC on penalty kicks in the Final Four semifinal.

VICTORIA, British Columbia – In the men's final of the annual Keg Spring Cup, the Fraser Valley Cascades defeated the Trinity Western Spartans 4-0 in a convincing fashion to earn the Keg Cup gold Sunday afternoon in Victoria.

VICTORIA, British Columbia – In the opening game of the Keg Spring Cup for the men, Canada West final four teams, UBC and Trinity Western, took to the field in exciting fashion. The Spartans were able to prevail over the Thunderbirds thanks to a 4-1 penalty kick shootout effort.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western’s Braden Gant scored two penalty kicks and Simon Fraser’s Carlo Brasso scored two regular goals as the Spartans and Clan tied 3-3 in spring action Thursday evening at Willoughby Park Field by the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C.

MEN’S SOCCER TO PLAY UBC IN CANADA WEST SEMIFINAL
