Spartans get Leslie
TWU soccer program adds Whitecaps 'amateur'

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The 2005 Canada West Champions and CIS bronze medalist Trinity Western University Spartans are pleased to announce the commitment of North Surrey’s Stefan Leslie to the Spartans soccer program.

“Our players and coaching staff are ecstatic with the signing of Stefan Leslie to our program.  The guys on our team and the coaching staff already love him. He has a wonderful depth of character that is instantly evident when you meet him,” said Alderson. “Stefan is a perfect fit for our university and will be an instant impact player with us.  He is extremely gifted both technically and as an athlete and adding him to our line-up next season should make our team the strongest we have ever been both on and off the field.”

Stefan is a multitalented individual who has the ability to excel on any part of the pitch. “At TWU Stefan will most likely play as a Striker, Outside Midfield or Outside back; however, because of his versatility he will very likely to “star” for the Spartans in several different positions,” said Alderson.

Stefan has been in the sights of Dale Mitchell from the National U-20 team and also played last season with the Whitecaps Reserves. In addition Stefan has been an impact player with the BC Provincial team program and recently signed and amateur contract and is currently playing with the Vancouver Whitecaps.

“Stefan will fit right in with TWU’s very best players and make us stronger than we have ever been on the field. Even more significant is that his depth of character will also make us even better and stronger off the field. We have an unbelievable sense of Team and Spartan Pride here at TWU, Stefan is sure to fit right in and even strengthen our depth of character.”
