SPARTANS AND VIKES TIE NIL-NIL

LANGLEY, British Columbia - The fourth ranked Trinity Western University men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with the University of Victoria Vikes Saturday night at TWU's Langley, B.C. campus.

The draw gives the first place Spartans 28 points with a record of 9-2-1, while the Vikes are tied for second place with 17 points at 5-5-2.

The match marked the 100 career match for TWU All-Canadian midfielder Nick Perugini (5th year, Montreal, Que.). Perugini led the Spartans with six shots, while teammate Nathan Pogue added four. The Vikes had five players with two shots each.

TWU keeper Andrew Fink (1st year, Burnaby, B.C.) made six saves, while Victoria's Daniel Kilpatrick (Winnipeg) made seven saves in the tie.

Next up for the Spartans are the University of Calgary Dinos and the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns on Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27. Match time at TWU is set for 7 p.m. on both nights.

Match Notes: TWU outshot Victoria 20-15 and had the edge in shots on goal at 7-6...the Spartans had a 10-7 edge in corner kicks...TWU clinched the Canada West Conference league play title with last night's 4-1 win over UBC...
