	National Champs Add Four Top Recruits Men's Volleyball - date: Jun. 9th, 2006 LANGLEY, British Columbia – The 2005-06 CIS National Champion Spartans and Head Coach Ron Pike are pleased to announce four top level recruits to this years recruiting class. Sporting the Trinity Western University colours this fall will be 6’5” third year setter Chaim Schalk (Red Deer College, Red Deer, Alta.), Norwegian 6’5” outside hitter Daniev Stenvig (Norway U20 National Team), 6’6” middle blocker Clayton Peters (Columbia Bible College, Mennonite Educational Institute, Abbotsford, BC) and 6’6” middle blocker Josh Doornenbal (Edmonton Christian High School, Edmonton, Alta.).
	2006-05-09-pr-mv-National-team Men's Volleyball - date: May 9th, 2006 WINNIPEG, Manitoba– The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team had two players named to this year Canadian Senior men’s national team. Graduating middle Chris Meehan and fifth year setter Josh Howatson were named to the 19 member squad. The selection was made after an intensive four-day selection camp held in Winnipeg the first weekend of May.
	14th annual BLG Awards Men's Volleyball - date: May 1st, 2006 CALGARY (CIS) –Volleyball player Marylène Laplante, from the Laval University Rouge et Or, and basketball player Osvaldo Jeanty, from the Carleton University Ravens, are the 2005-06 Canadian Interuniversity Sport female and male athletes of the year.
	2006-04-26-release-national-team Men's Volleyball - date: Apr. 26th, 2006 The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team will be sending three student-athletes to this year’s Senior Men’s Selection Camp, to be held this May at the University of Manitoba’s Investors Group Athletic Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Spartan men will be represented by Canada West Player of the Year and BLG finalist Chris Meehan (middle, Clearwater, B.C.), CIS All-Canadian setter Josh Howatson (Victoria, B.C.) and middle Doug van Spronsen (Comox, B.C.).

	Year-end-Awards Men's Volleyball - date: Apr. 7th, 2006 Langley, British Columbia – On Thursday night the Trinity Western University Department of Athletics honoured their student-athletes at their annual Spartans Awards Banquet. The top award of the Spartan Complete Champion went to women’s soccer midfielder Angela Trauter (5th yr, Langley, B.C.), women’s volleyball middle hitter Rhonda Schmuland (5th yr, Calgary, Alta.), men’s volleyball middle hitter Chris Meehan (5th yr, Clearwater, B.C.) and men’s soccer defender Paul Ballard (5th yr, Maple Ridge, B.C.).
	Mar 15 Minister for Sport Congratulates Spartans Men's Volleyball - date: Mar. 15th, 2006 LANGLEY, British Columbia - The Trinity Western University men's volleyball team was honoured to have Canada's Minister for Sport, the Honourable Mr. Michael D. Chong speak at the team's all-campus CIS gold medal celebration Monday afternoon at TWU's Langley, B.C. campus.
	Mar 8 Meehan Named CIS VIA Rail Athlete of the Wee Men's Volleyball - date: Mar. 8th, 2006 LANGLEY – TWU’s Chris Meehan (Clearwater, B.C.) was awarded the CIS Athlete of the Week award for his outstanding performance at last weekend’s CIS men’s volleyball championships in Hamilton, Ont. The fifth-year business major led the TWU Spartans men’s volleyball team to their first CIS national championship with a dominating 3-0 (25-21, 25-8, 25-16) performance over the #1 ranked University of Alberta. In addition to the gold medal the Spartans were awarded the CIS championship R.W. Pugh Fair Play Award.
	Mar 5 Complete – Champions! Men's Volleyball - date: Mar. 5th, 2006 HAMILTON, Ontario – The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team now has a complete set of CIS Championship medals. The Spartans have won medal’s in each of their three championship appearances TWU won bronze in 2004, silver in 2005 and this year they were golden.
	March 4 Spartans Down…But Not Out Men's Volleyball - date: Mar. 4th, 2006 HAMILTON, Ontario – Stel-uary. That’s the nick name that the TWU team has given fourth year outside hitter Jeff Stel. The name comes from they way Stel performs in the month of March during the CIS national championships. For the Spartans when calendar hits March 1st, the month is not March it is Stel-uary. Last year Stel earned a CIS championship all-star and a clip on Sportsnet, and if there was any doubt that the name was not well deserved it was put to rest by Stel’s amazing performance in Saturday’s 3-2 (25-20, 24-26, 21-25, 25-23, 15-11) CIS national championship semi-final win over the University of Manitoba.
	Mar 3 TWU Middle Attack Too Much For Queens Univer Men's Volleyball - date: Mar. 3rd, 2006 HAMILTON, Ontario – The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team used a powerful middle attack and timely blocking to power their way past the seventh seed Queens University Golden Gaels 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-23) at the CIS National Championship Friday afternoon at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont. The win moves TWU into tomorrow’s semi-final match against the third ranked University of Manitoba. Winning by set scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 25-18, the #1 ranked Bears continued their impressive win streak against the #2 Spartans.

	Feb17 MEEHAN IS MAGNIFICENT AS SPARTANS QUALIFY FO Men's Volleyball - date: Feb. 17th, 2006 LANGLEY, British Columbia – Chris Meehan (5th year, middle, Clearwater, B.C.) put in a spectacular effort in the Spartans victory Friday night at TWU’s Langley campus. He hit at 92% and finished the match with 12 kills and zero hitting errors. If that wasn’t enough Meehan also added eight service aces and three blocks to help his team past the University of Winnipeg 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 25-10, 25-16).
	Feb 16 Spartans Rally Men's Volleyball - date: Feb. 16th, 2006 LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team opened the Canada West quarter finals by winning the first match of the best of three series 3-1 (16-25, 25-20, 28-26, 25-17) over the University of Winnipeg. The second ranked Spartans (16-4) survived and early scare from the seventh ranked Wesman (12-8) when they lost the first set, but rattled off three straight sets to take the match Thursday night at TWU.
	Feb11 Spartans Sweep Huskies Men's Volleyball - date: Feb. 11th, 2006 SASKATOON, Saskatchewan – The number two ranked Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team needed more late heroics to come from behind to defeat the third ranked University of Saskatchewan 3-2 (21-25, 24-26, 25-23, 25-18, 15-11) Saturday night in Saskatoon, Sask. The win moves the Spartans to 16-4, while the loss drops the Huskies to 15-5.
	feb 10 Spartans Overcome Two Set Deficit Men's Volleyball - date: Feb. 10th, 2006 SASKATOON, Saskatchewan– The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team took nearly three sets to find their game Friday night in Saskatoon, Sask. But when they did the second ranked Spartans overpowered the third ranked University of Saskatchewan Huskies 3-2 (17-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-16, 15-6).
	Feb 8 Vanderbrink and Vander Ende Sign to TWU Men's Volleyball - date: Feb. 8th, 2006 LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western University men’s volleyball head coach Ron Pike is pleased to announce the signing of two top local standouts to the Spartans. Langley Christian’s Aaron Vandenbrink and Fraser Valley Christians David Vander Ende both made commitment’s to play for the number two ranked Spartans beginning in the fall of 2006.
	STRAIGHT SETS FOR SPARTANS Men's Volleyball - date: Feb. 4th, 2006 LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team made quick work of the University of British Columbia Saturday night, winning 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-16) in just over an hour. The second ranked Spartans are now 14-4 on the season, while the fifth ranked Thunderbirds now fall to 12-6.
	Feb 3 SPARTANS MAKE IT LOOK EASY Men's Volleyball - date: Feb. 3rd, 2006 LANGLEY, British Columbia – The second ranked Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team rebounded strong after last week’s losses to number one Alberta with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-16) win over the fifth ranked University of British Columbia. The Spartans took just over an hour to improve their record to 13-4 and take over second place in the Canada West. While the loss drops the Thunderbirds (12-5) to third place.
	Jan 28 GAME OF THE YEAR ENDS IN HEARTBREAK Men's Volleyball - date: Jan. 28th, 2006 LANGLEY, British Columbia - The number two ranked Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team played host to the number one ranked team in the nation in front of a capacity crowd that was rewarded with a match for the ages. The University of Alberta improved their overall record to 15-1 in the five set win (25-21, 25-27, 25-23, 22-25, 15-12) over TWU, who falls to 12-4 with the loss.
	Jan 27 Spartans Swept By Golden Bears Men's Volleyball - date: Jan. 27th, 2006 LANGLEY, British Columbia - The second ranked Trinity Western University Spartans fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-19) to the top ranked University of Alberta Golden Bears Friday night at TWU.
	Jan 21 Spartans Head Home with Sweep Men's Volleyball - date: Jan. 21st, 2006 CALGARY - The second ranked Trinity Western University Spartans completed a weekend sweep over the University of Calgary Dinos with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-19) win in Canada West men’s volleyball action Saturday evening. The triumph for the Spartans improves their record to 12-2 while Calgary falls to 2-14 in Canada West competition.
	Jan 20 Spartans Block Dinos Men's Volleyball - date: Jan. 20th, 2006 CALGARY - The second ranked Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team used 12 team blocks to hold off a surging University of Calgary Dinos Friday night in Calgary. Middle Chris Meehan (fifth year, Clearwater, B.C.) and setter Josh Howatson (fourth year, Victoria, B.C.) led the Spartans with eight blocks assists each as TWU improved to 11-2 with a 3-0 win 25-13, 25-16, 29-27.
	Jan 14 Spartans Start 2006 with Sweep Men's Volleyball - date: Jan. 14th, 2006 KAMLOOPS, British Columbia - The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team made it a clean sweep with Saturday night’s 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-20) win over the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack. The second ranked Spartans made it six straight sets, 3-0 on Friday, as they move to 10-2 in Canada West league play. The loss drops the WolfPack to 1-11.
	Jan 13 Meehan Leads Spartans Over WolfPack Men's Volleyball - date: Jan. 13th, 2006 KAMLOOPS, British Columbia - Middle Chris Meehan (Clearwater) led the Spartans with nine kills and seven blocks as the Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team swept the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-13) Friday night in Kamloops, B.C. The win moves the Spartans to 9-2, while the loss drops the WolfPack to 1-10.

After starting the season 8-0 in Canada West league play and earning the number one ranking in the nation the Spartans dropped their final two matches of the semester to the University of Alberta.
	Nov 26 Bears Sweep Spartans Men's Volleyball - date: Nov. 26th, 2005 EDMONTON - The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team dropped their second match of the weekend to the University of Alberta Saturday night in Edmonton. The number one ranked Spartans had a stronger match tonight, but they were still unable to solve the defending CIS champions as TWU fell 3-0 (25-19, 27-25, 25-23). The two consecutive 3-0 losses to the number two ranked Golden Bears will most likely mean that the Spartans and the Golden Bears will switch spots atop the CIS top ten.
	Nov 25 Spartans Blanked by Golden Bears Men's Volleyball - date: Nov. 25th, 2005 EDMONTON - The number one ranked Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team is no long undefeated in Canada West play. The Spartans (8-1) were handed their first loss by the number two ranked University of Alberta Golden Bears (8-1) Friday night in Edmonton. The Golden Bears took out the Spartans in straight sets winning, 25-21, 25-19, 25-18 in a match that took one hour and twenty minutes to complete.
	Nov 19 Spartans Stop T-Birds Men's Volleyball - date: Nov. 19th, 2005 VANCOUVER - The six-ranked UBC Thunderbirds men’s volleyball team (7-7, 5-3 CW) became the first squad all season to take a set off the reigning CIS silver medallists from Langley, but it was the top-ranked Trinity Western Spartans (12-2, 8-0 CW) walking away with another victory, this time 3-1 at War Memorial Gym on Saturday night. Tonight’s win makes it six wins in a row over the Thunderbirds and 18 of the last 19 matches.
	Nov 18 Spartans Still Perfect Men's Volleyball - date: Nov. 18th, 2005 VANCOUVER, British Columbia - The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team remained perfect in Canada West as the Spartans dropped the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-20) Friday night at UBC’s War Memorial Gym. The number one ranked Spartans have yet to drop a set (21-0) in Canada West play and currently sit in first place in the Canada West Mountain Division.
	Nov 12 Top Ranked Spartans Stun Dinos Men's Volleyball - date: Nov. 12th, 2005 LANGLEY, British Columbia - Serving was the name of the game for the Trinity Western University men’s volleyball match against the visiting University of Calgary Dinos. The Spartans had 11 aces as they swept the Dinos in straight sets (25-15, 25-15, 25-17).

	Nov 10 Spartans #1 Men's Volleyball - date: Nov. 10th, 2005 LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball has been ranked number one in this week’s CIS top ten coaches poll. The achieving of the number one ranking in Canada is a first for a Trinity Western University men’s team. Both men’s volleyball and soccer teams have been ranked as high as number two in the nation, but until this week neither team has achieved a number one spot.
	Nov 5 Spartan Extend Streak to 12-0 Men's Volleyball - date: Nov. 5th, 2005 LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team moved to 4-0 in Canada West play with their 3-0 win over the visiting Thompson Rivers University WolfPack (0-4). The Spartans have won each of their Canada West matches 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-22) to move their game winning streak to 12- 0 in Canada West.
	Nov 4 Spartans Welcome WolfPack Men's Volleyball - date: Nov. 4th, 2005 LANGLEY, British Columbia – The number two ranked Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team made quick work of their match against Canada West newcomer the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack. TWU took just over one hour to hand TRU their third loss of the season winning in straight sets (25-12, 25-10, and 25-15) Friday night at TWU.
	Oct 29 Impressive Men's Volleyball - date: Oct. 29th, 2005 LANGLEY, British Columbia – Last night the Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team came within half a percentage point of setting a new school record in attack proficiency. Tonight the Spartans obliterated the record with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-13) win over the University of Regina. TWU improved the old record from 53.6% to 61.1%, while committing only four attack errors in 54 attempts.
	Oct 28 Spartans’ Attack Dominates Cougars Men's Volleyball - date: Oct. 28th, 2005 LANGLEY, British Columbia – TWU’s past two First Team All-Canadians led the way as the Spartans won in straight sets over the visiting University of Regina. 2005 All-Canadian Steve Rogalsky (3rd yr, rightside, Maple Ridge, BC) and 2004 All-Canadian Chris Meehan (5th yr, middle, Clearwater, BC) paced the Spartans with 11 kills each to the 25-17, 25-12, 25-17 victory to open the Canada West men’s volleyball season Friday night at TWU.
	Oct. 15 Spartans Second at CAN-AM Men's Volleyball - date: Oct. 15th, 2005 EDMONTON, Alberta - The Trinity Western University men's volleyball team finished in a tie for second place with the UCLA Bruins at this weekend's Husky Energy Can-Am Challenge in Alberta. The Spartans were second behind tournament champions Alberta, finishing with a record of three wins and one loss.
