Spartans Second at CAN-AM
TWU ties UCLA with three wins – one loss
EDMONTON, Alberta - The Trinity Western University men's volleyball team finished in a tie for second place with the UCLA Bruins at this weekend's Husky Energy Can-Am Challenge in Alberta. The Spartans were second behind tournament champions Alberta, finishing with a record of three wins and one loss.
The Can-Am challenge saw CIS teams match up head-to-head with NCAA division I teams from the United States. The CIS officially took the series with ten wins and six losses.
During the two day tournament TWU lost 3-1 to UCLA, defeated Pepperdine 3-0, defeated Lewis 3-0 and defeated BYU 3-0.
For the tournament, the Alberta was a perfect 4-0 and the Trinity Western Spartans and UCLA Bruins each finished 3-1. The UBC Thunderbirds and Pepperdine Wave finished 2-2, while Ryerson went 1-3 and the Lewis Flyers ended up 0-4.
Next up for the Spartans is their Canada West league opener against the University of Regina. Match times at TWU on October 28-29 are set for 8 pm.
