Spartans Welcome WolfPack
Second Ranked TWU sweeps newcomer Thompson Rivers
LANGLEY, British Columbia – The number two ranked Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team made quick work of their match against Canada West newcomer the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack. TWU took just over one hour to hand TRU their third loss of the season winning in straight sets (25-12, 25-10, and 25-15) Friday night at TWU.
The WolfPack, who are in their first season of Canada West play had trouble with everything that the Spartans through at them tonight. TWU out blocked TRU 11.5 to one and out-hit the WolfPack 27 kills to 15 kills. The Spartans finished with 38% attack efficiency, while the WolfPack finished at -23%.
Steve Rogalsky (3rd yr, rightside, Maple Ridge, BC) led the Spartans with six kills and four blocks, while Behlul Yavasgel (Istanbul, Turkey) led the WolfPack with four kills and six digs.
The two teams will match up again Saturday night at TWU’s David E. Enarson Gym. Match time is set for 8 pm.
