Spartans Start 2006 with Sweep
TWU tops TRU 3-0 to take both weekend matches

KAMLOOPS, British Columbia - The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team made it a clean sweep with Saturday night’s 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-20) win over the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack. The second ranked Spartans made it six straight sets, 3-0 on Friday, as they move to 10-2 in Canada West league play. The loss drops the WolfPack to 1-11.

Chris Meehan (Clearwater) with ten kills and three blocks led the Spartans, while BJ Peters led the WolfPack with six kills and four digs.

Next up for the Spartans is at the University of Calgary on Friday, January 20 and Saturday, January 21.

Match Notes: TWU had 35 kills hitting at 37%, while TRU had 26 kills hitting at 3%...TWU’s Josh Howatson (Victoria) had 31 set assists...the Spartans had six team blocks, while the WolfPack had three team blocks...
